In a world where modernity creates cities with a ruler and a pen and a mapping camera, and the volume and load of traffic in the cities, makes it impossible to escape from, seeing the connections between the houses in a village gives a sense of collective life more than a metropolitan area because it follows the rules of a colony, just like an ant house.
A village where everyone is familiar with each other, and depend one each other in joy and sadness, create a family of light. A family who lives in the heart of nature and lives in gentleness (or tenderness), fights with adversities and finds historical solutions for it.
The artisans of Jaipur rugs were the most inspiring people and the main employer of our project. We felt that we can visualize the sacred path that these weavers walk every day, so that their handiwork adorns the world of others all over the world. Weavers whose names have been avoided even under the art board they have created. The concept of our group was a reminder of the footprints of these artisans in their beautiful lives, which is presented in the main exhibition of the Jaipur brand
So we tried to prepare a graph, of rural houses in India and the path that is created between them, and the traces of the daily path the weavers take in their villages, made a path for us.
This route passed through the village alleys and in joints reached a large opening until it could revive the houses of the villagers in different ways in the opening.
The complex paths that are the result of the graph between the village houses and the openings that each symbolize one of the Jaipur carpet activities in its Flagship, require a strong interface line to be Jaipur signature brand in this narrative. And this interface line, starts from a showcase, splits all the walls and reaches the end of the project, to be a symbol of hope. This deep gap also has a structural function which is to gives a deep field of vision to the entire space from the beginning of the entrance, so that the design team can overcome the most important challenge of the site, i.e. the large length and small width in dimensions of the project.
In one place it reaches an interactive space, andĀ the sense of togetherness of the women of the village is reinforced.
In another place, it reaches an artwork that is a mirror on the floor that evokes a carpet that is placed on the ceiling. and actually hints that in Free Manchas we intend to reflect the life of an artisan, but the mischief of the free manchas competition Group turns it into a mancha roof from a mancha wall.
In another opening of the path, it reaches an amphitheater. Before entering the amphitheater, however, one must follow a path and see the wall that tells sweet stories, the narrative wall is the meeting place between architecture, industry and stories, so that seeing the craftsman’s work feels like a beautiful performance and the visitors melt into kisses the craftsman’s hand puts on the threads and strings.
On the way back, the finger print of the visitor is shown in the color chosen by them, and is added to one of the LCD knots of a carpet design, so that a carpet is designed from being together and from the human unity that was formed by the visitors in the Jaipur carpets.
